Are you interested in building a new home? Then, you’ll want to explore the most popular and entirely customizable plans by Lexar Homes, where thoughtful expertise and functional design meet.

The Lexar Homes Design Philosopy

Our lead designer, Travis Rieland, shares insights into his design philosophy at Lexar Homes—his prioritization and emphasis on simplicity of construction, high-performance standards, and innovative 3D visualization techniques. “The biggest inspiration for the designs I have put out,” says Rieland, “would be the simplicity of construction while still maintaining curb appeal and well-thought-out layouts.” Creating a beautiful yet well-functioning home is a thing of beauty, isn’t it? The thoughtful design acknowledges how a home will live on the other side of construction—where people want to stack laundry baskets, make sandwiches, and place their TVs. “Because we take these aspects into account at the very beginning, we are able to ensure they aren’t missed at the end result.”

Rieland’s commitment to maintaining curb appeal and well-thought-out layouts shines through in each of our top floor plans. Every design reflects Travis’s dedication to excellence, from the sleek and modern Maple to the timeless elegance of the Graystone. One standout feature of our designs is the utilization of raised heel trusses, ensuring maximum insulation and energy efficiency—a testament to our quality.

Raised-heel trusses, also known as energy-heel trusses, are a smart choice for energy-efficient homes. They’re like regular trusses but with a raised section, or “heel,” at the edge of the building. This design makes it easier to ventilate the attic and adds space for insulation above the walls. When combined with continuous plywood or OSB sheathing on the exterior walls, raised-heel trusses improve both the structure and energy performance of the home. This benefits the homeowner in the long run by reducing energy costs and increasing comfort.

Finding the Right Custom Home Floor Plan for You

Lexar Homes can add, subtract, or redraw design details into any existing plan. “The most common changes I make on plans include adding large covered porches or extra garage bays,” says Rieland. Outdoor living has been very popular, and the extra space the garage bays add is invaluable.”
